HISTORY
Since
the early 1800's, music has been an integral part of the Brewer
family. The tradition continues in the talents of Gary
Brewer. Gary exemplifies the new generation of bluegrass artists
who have a deep respect for the roots of bluegrass and old time
mountain music, but are willing to put their own personal stamp on the
music.
Gary Brewer has worked hard to put
the "Brewgrass" stamp on his music, becoming known as a singer,
guitarist and songwriter to be reckoned with. The determination
and hard work have paid off, as Gary and the Ramblers have appeared on
the Nashville Network, plus numerous television and radio shows all
over the country, including an appearance at the Lincoln Center.
Gary and the band are currently touring 30 plus states on a regular
basis. Since 1988, they have performed over 300 show dates a year,
an achievement in any genre, but astounding for a bluegrass group.
Gary has been noted as one of
the finest lead singers to come along in a quite a while, receiving
high praise from major reviewers and national stars in the music
business. His guitar picking is creative and powerful, with the
ability to go from rock solid rhythms to smooth, tasteful yet powerful
solos.
Gary comes by his talent
naturally; his Grandfather, Finley J. Brewer Sr. of Roan Mountain,
Tennessee, was part of the original Carter Family troupe in the late
1920's.
Gary's father, Finley J. (Jim) Brewer Jr., has been
playing music since 1950 and has become a special attraction on Gary's
live show dates as well as Gary's son Wayne. When Jim and Wayne join
the Ramblers on stage, a special thing happens, whether they sing a
good ol' gospel quartet number or a hard driving ballad, it always
leaves the crowd wanting more.
In addition to Jim's musical talents, he has a full
workload with Gary and the Ramblers as Road Manager and personal bus
driver. Jim also assists Gary in bookings and personal management.
Gary's determination and hard work have earned him
a great deal of respect, with fellow musicians, fans and
promoters. As a prolific composer, Gary's songs have become an
important part of his career and success in the industry.
Gary Brewer
and his Kentucky Ramblers present a high energy, high quality family
show. Always well dressed and conducted, they present a professional
image and leave a lasting impression on the audience.
With years of experience on the
circuit and in the Industry, it is a sure thing that Gary and the
Ramblers can entertain a crowd and prove to be a major draw card at any
festival or event.
