Bass player, Wade Butler is from Owensboro, KY and was born January 13, 1978. In 1994, at the age of 16, Wade joined his first band, playing guitar for the Young Acoustic All Stars. They recorded an album for New Haven Records called Somewhere Down the Road, which received a Grammy nomination.  The group also appeared on TNN's  Music City Tonight with Crook & Chase. Wade spent the summer of 1996 playing at the Opryland Theme Park.  He attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN, graduating in December 2000, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business.  Wade  joined the Kentucky Ramblers as the bass player in 1998.  His first recording with this group was on Gary Brewer's tribute project to Jimmy Martin, titled Jimmy Martin Songs for Dinner.  Wade has also recorded two solo projects, A Piece of the Past and Greater Things Are Yet to Come.  The latter is an all gospel album, which includes 10 tracks written by Wade's father, Billy Butler. Wade's brother and sister joined him for harmony vocals on one track.  He has also recently been in the studio helping fellow Ramblers, Charles Duffey and Blake Hopper, on their own solo fiddle and banjo projects, respectively.  When not touring with the Kentucky Ramblers, Wade occasionally fills in with other groups on guitar, mandolin or bass. Wade currently resides in Nashville, TN.  His hobbies include music, golf, basketball and movies.   Wade proudly endorses super-sensitive sensicore bass strings.
